Whether it be hiking, going to the beach/dog park, or camping, you'll be able to find an activity that will unlock adventure for you and your pup. Here are some great outdoor activities that you and your dog can do together! 

1. Mary Bowerman Trail

If you love hiking, and are looking for a short trail, this is a great option. Mary Bowerman is a little under one mile with breathtaking views of Mount Diablo and surrounded by wildflowers. 

2. Kings Canyon Loop

Kings Canyon is a 6-mile-long trail winding through open woods and features stunning views of the San Leandro Reservoir. After this, your pup is sure to be tired!  

3. Lafayette Reservoir Recreation Area

Make a day out of visiting the Lafayette Reservoir. There are several activities to do in this area, including 2 different hiking trails, biking, picnicking, and even fishing!  

4. East Bay Skyline National Recreation Trail 

The East Bay Skyline Trail is guaranteed to be beautiful and rewarding! The Skyline is a 31-mile continuous path going through six of East Bay’s historic parks. Along the trail, you will see breathtaking panoramic city and bay views. 

5. Del Valle Regional Park

There are many activities to do at the 5,000-acre Del Valle Park. Whether you and your pup want to hike one of the 67 miles worth of trails, hang at the marina, or camp for a few nights, Del Valle has you covered! Communities like Livermore are just 10 miles away, making it easy to have a full weekend of adventures. 

6. Point Pinole Regional Shoreline

Meadows, flowers, birds; these are just some of the things you can experience on the 2,315 acres of land at Point Pinole Shoreline. You can hike or ride your bike along the 12 miles of trails while enjoying bay views similar to those in neighboring Point Richmond communities.  

7. Alameda Creed Regional Trail

This 22-mile trail provides an awesome escape for pups and their owners living in nearby towns like Fremont. This trail is open year-round and offers river views and some flatter trails if you are looking for a casual walk or hike with your furry friend.  

8. Buchanan Beach

Buchanan Beach is a small beach with some rocks on the sand, but is a great off-leash option for your dog. Your pup will be able to enjoy the water, while you enjoy the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco! 

9. Muir Beach 

High cliffs surround the border of Muir Beach, giving it a secluded feel. Your pup can run around free within the cliffs and rocks and play in the water, all while surrounded by gorgeous panoramic views.  

10. Eddos Harbor & RV Park 

If you are looking for peace and relaxation, look no further. You can enjoy this extremely quiet setting while relaxing with your pup outside, boating, or fishing. This makes for a great stay-cation for Bay Area residents or an awesome pit-stop for dog owners traveling to this area.  

11. Point Isabel 

This multi-use park is a great option if your dog needs a good run. This park offers 23 acres of land where your dog can run off-leash. The views in this park will give you and your dog a true tour of the ‘Bay’, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County.   

12. Bruno Canziani Dog Park

Sometimes a quick trip to the park is all your dog needs to get that energy out! Bruno Canziani Park gives your dog all the room to run with a 49,000 sq. ft fenced-in grassy area. Just 15 miles from Mountain House, CA, this dog park offers hiking trails, BBQ pits, and a playground (for your non-furry kids). 

13. Shinn Pond 

Is your dog a water fanatic? Shinn Pond features a large grassy area for your pups to run around, a pond for them to swim in, and tables for you to enjoy a picnic! 

14. California Canoe & Kayak

Have you considered taking your dog out on the water? At California Canoe & Kayak, your dream can become a reality. Rent kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and gear. They even have life vests for your pup, so you know they are safe! 

15. Lands End Trail

This 3-mile trail in the Sutro District of the Golden Gate Recreation Area offers you and your dog beautiful views of the coast, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Sutro Baths. Throughout this hike, you will have endless opportunities to get a great picture of your dog!
